Terms of service.

Effective 2026-05 · Version 1.0

Plain-language terms for using 0trust. By creating an account and paying an invoice, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy, and the Acceptable Use Policy below.

1. The service

0trust provides a WireGuard-based VPN routed through mesh nodes in Switzerland, Iceland, and Romania. We provide the client software (open source) and operate the server infrastructure. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

2. Your account

Your account is identified solely by a 16-character token. The token is the only credential and it cannot be recovered. We do not store it in a recoverable form, we have no email or phone number associated with it, and we cannot reset it. If you lose it, the account is gone — keep a backup. You may use one account on up to 8 devices simultaneously. You are responsible for safeguarding your token; anyone who has it can use your subscription.

3. Payment

We accept Bitcoin. Prices are shown in USD and converted at checkout. Subscriptions are prepaid for the duration you select and do not auto-renew — we have no stored payment method to charge. When your subscription approaches expiry, you may top up with a new invoice; new time is added to your remaining balance.

4. Refunds

30-day refund window. If you're unsatisfied within 30 days of payment, email 0trustvpn@proton.me with your invoice ID and a crypto address, and we'll send the full amount back to it. We do this by hand, from the wallet your payment arrived in — there is no payment processor in the middle, and so no dispute flow to go through. After 30 days the bandwidth and infrastructure cost has been incurred and refunds are no longer available. Because we can't identify you, you must ask for the refund yourself with your invoice ID — we cannot reach you first.

A refund ends the time it paid for. When we send the money back we take the same number of days off your subscription: one month refunded out of three leaves you the other two. If that puts your expiry in the past, the account expires and stops routing.

5. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use the service to:

Note an honest tension: we deliberately cannot see your traffic, so we enforce this policy reactively — based on abuse complaints we receive about an exit node, not by monitoring you. When a complaint arrives, our only available remedies are coarse (rotating an exit IP, rate-limiting a port range mesh-wide) because we cannot identify which customer is responsible. Persistent abuse that threatens our ability to operate may require us to take a node offline, affecting all users on it. Use the service responsibly so we don't have to.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but make no uptime guarantee at this stage. We run a deliberately small mesh; maintenance, provider issues, or node rotation can cause brief interruptions. Current status is always at 0trustvpn.com/status. We are not liable for losses arising from service interruption.

7. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time by disconnecting and not renewing; there is no "close account" step because there is no identity to close. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the Acceptable Use Policy. Because accounts are anonymous and prepaid, termination for abuse forfeits the remaining prepaid balance.

8. Disclaimers & liability

A VPN changes how your traffic is routed; it is not a guarantee of anonymity, security, or legality of your activities. You remain responsible for what you do online. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operating entity is established, disclosed in our security.txt. We may update these terms; material changes are announced in the warrant canary and reflected in the version number above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
